Bible Studies/Sunday School
BIBLE STUDIES
Bible study is a major part of the life of the people of Bethia United Methodist Church. It is the base of our understanding of God and our understanding of our salvation. Studying God's Holy Word comes in many opportunities at Bethia.
- Disciple I: Thirty-four lesson Bible Study overview of the Old and New Testaments. Prerequisite for all other Disciple classes. Adults and youth meet for two hours weekly on a weekday evening.
- Disciple II: Thirty-two lesson Bible Study of Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts. Adults and youth meet for two hours weekly. Must have completed Disciple I.
- Disciple III: Thirty-two lesson Bible Study of Prophets and letters of Paul. Adults and youth meet for two hours weekly. Must have completed Disciple I.
- Disciple IV: Thirty-two lesson Bible Study of Old Testament wisdom literature and letters of John. Adults and youth meet for two hours weekly. Must have completed Disciple I.
- Men's Study: Sunday, 5 p.m.
- Men's Group Study: 2 p.m.
- Monday Night Summer Study. A Bible Study for busy people. Designed to meet for one hour weekly with great flexibility to miss one or more classes. Each week???s class stands alone but adds to overall topic of all lessons.
- Thursday Morning Bible Study 10 a.m.
- Thursday Night Bible Study 7 p.m.
SUNDAY SCHOOL All Sunday School Classes are held at 9:45 a.m. every Sunday. Nursery is provided for ages 0-2. Youth classes are divided by age group/grade.
Young Adult Are you in your 20's, 30's, or 40's? This class is designed for young adults and the issues that affect their daily lives, families, and careers. Fellowship, prayer, and God's word are the focus of the time together. This class meets in the Bethia house and Matt Newquist leads the class.
Fellowship Class Bible Study for adults over 40 using International Bible Studies
Foundations Class is a discussion-based class that enjoys lively discussions on Bible related topics that apply to our life today. "Great Themes of the Bible" and "The Parables of Today" are topics that have been recently discussed. The class meets in the Social Hall and David Jones and Larry Davis lead the class.
Friendship Class is a traditional adult class that uses the Cokesbury Adult Bible Study curriculum. The class meets in Room 1 and the teaching duties are shared by Tomy Ryan, Shirley Walker, and Marain Berry.
Sunday School for Children/Youth Sunday School classes are available for pre-school through high school starting at 9:45 every week.
